Three gigantic Silos are located adjacent to each other and the Third Silo is in the Saringan area, a few hundred meters apart with the Sizing Plant, connected by the towering rail in the sky. Third Silo which is at least 40 m high serves to keep the coal that has been cleaned and ready to be transported to Bayur Bay Harbor. Sawahlunto is a small town east of the city of Padang. This name is quite sticky with coal mining. When speaking of coal, memory was fixed to PT.Bukit Asam, one of the state-owned large companies engaged in coal mining. In the report of a national news website, liputan6.com, told, coal mining in this small town began in 1867. At that time, a Dutch adventure Willem Hendrik de Greve managed to find a coal deposit in the bowels of the earth, around the Ombilin River , reaching 205 million tons. This discovery was stunning at that time and After Indonesia became independent, it was managed by the state through its established company, PT Tambang Batu Bara Ombilin (TBO). TBO is then liquidated into a subsidiary of PT.Bukit Asam located in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra.
